Source: Industries of Dublin, Page 50, 1888

West & Son underwent several name and venue changes before settling in this 4-story building on College Green, constructed specifically for the diamond seller in 1845 and undergoing massive, expensive renovations in the 1880s. They were most celebrated for their diamond ornaments, gem rings and antique plate. West & Son supported Irish producers wherever possible, including Celtic jewellery made from gold found in Co. Wicklow and Irish pearls.
