032 Abbey Presbyterian Church ('Findlater's Church'), Parnell Square, 1996
This church is unusual in that it is best known by the name of the family who funded its construction. The Findlater merchant family is still well-known in Dublin and material from the family business is held as part of Dublin City Public Libraries' Special Collections. The church was built on what was then known as Rutland Square and has served the Presbyterian congregation of Dublin since it first opened its doors in 1864.
This photo is from the Dublin City Council Photographic Collection. This unique collection is an educational resource and provides a basis for original research on the history of Dublin from the second half of the twentieth century.
