017 Reserve Volunteer
'A reserve volunteer of the National Army examines vehicles for contraband in Dublin. Such steps were rendered urgent by reason of several commerical vans being found to contain quantities of arms and ammunition in course of transport from one Irregular depot to another. The reservists, although they wore no uniform or distinguishing badge behaved with becoming and soldier-like courtesy and dignity'. ('Ireland's Tragic Week', p. 12)
