Heffernan, Daniel Edward Dublin and Suburbs, Heffernan’s Illustrated Plan

Dublin, D. Edward Heffernan, 1868

This beautifully illustrated map of Dublin dates from the mid 19th century and is the work of a Daniel Edward Heffernan, a civil Engineer and Land Surveyor who was active in Dublin in the second half of the nineteenth century. Heffernan, in addition to being a skilled cartographer, was also a skillful artist, and the maps he published of Dublin, Bray and Wicklow, are embellished with fine vignettes of the popular sights of these places.
