050 Brian O'Driscoll (2004)
Brian O’Driscoll is arguably the most gifted rugby player of his generation. He memorably announced his arrival on the international rugby scene in 2000 with a hat-trick of tries against France in Paris. He is the highest try scorer of all time for Ireland. In 2009 he captained Ireland to their first Grand Slam victory in 61 years. This photo shows Brian receiving the Lord Mayor’s Award in 2004 at the City Hall.
This is one of a selection of photographs from the Dublin City Council Photographic Collection celebrating the proud sporting heritage of Dublin.
