022 Dilapidated houses, Nos. 30 and 31 Grenville Street
This photograph is one of those taken by John Cooke in 1913 to illustrate the dreadful living conditions in Dublin. Grenville Street is just off Mountjoy Square in the north inner city. The photograph shows a classic example of tenements housing. In 1911, in No. 27, 42 people lived in 9 rooms.
